Benny's Way

Funding Criteria

When deciding on what projects to fund, Benny's way evaluates four criteria of a project:
  1. Mission: We are looking for projects that improve quality of life - while the majority of our projects focus on humans, we are very open to considering projects that positively animals or the environment.
  2. Leadership: Having a dedicated project champion is critical to a Benny's Way-sponsored project. We look for someone who is willing to sweat and shed tears along the way. Someone who is connected to their project and has ability to further it regardless of the obstacle.
  3. Cost Effectiveness: We aren't a fancy endowment with billionaire backing. We look for grassroots projects that can thrive with limited amounts of funding. A well thought out and reasonable budget is essential.
  4. Vision for Long-term, Sustainable Change: Our goal is not only to sponsor an action that positively impacts quality of life today, but to also lay the groundwork for more systemic change. This means picking projects that can be used as blueprints when lobbying for policy or societal change. To accomplish this end, project results must be documentable and project champions must have a vision for long-term, sustainable change.

For example, this could mean a passionate special education teacher asking to fund adaptive technology for some of his students, so he can document their progress and lobby for changes in state reimbursement.

We hope that our criteria align your potential project. If so, please submit a proposal electronically and we will evaluate it. If you are not sure, please submit a proposal and include your questions.
